Warehouse Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY: Directs activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing and shipping customer product by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In the event of absence, these duties and responsibilities will defer to the Warehouse Manager as appropriate.


Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

1.       Assigns receiving, storage packaging support and shipping tasks to assigned warehouse personnel               

 2.       Ensures forklift operators and other personnel perform operator maintenance on assigned equipment.      

 3.       Reports equipment and facility repair needs to the warehouse manager.                                                             

 4.       Trains new employees to perform assigned tasks.                                                                       

 5.       Ensures personnel meet productivity, safety and attendance targets.                                                                    

 6.       Recommends staffing changes necessary to achieve productions goals.                                                                

 7.       Implements company policy initiatives through training, employee meetings, communication and personal example               

 8.       Recommends policy changes aimed at improving cost effectiveness, resource utilization efficiency, personnel morale, regulatory and food safety and quality compliance  and customer service.                           

 9.       Ensures that scheduled work is completed accurately and on time.                                                                        

 10.    Provides productive feedback and correction to employees whose performance of duties is not meeting objective  

 11.    Inspects product in storage to identify opportunities for improved space utilization and improper stacking or storage practices. 

12.    Ensures employees have proper training on use and care of equipment.                                              

 13.    Reports all incidents that have impact on food quality and safety to the Warehouse Manager.                       

 14.    Operates powered equipment safely and efficiently when necessary.                                                                   

 15.    In the event of absences or excessive volume, effectively and efficiently performs the duties of those employee roles which report to them. 

16.    When overseeing multiple locations/facilities, the warehouse supervisor must be able to regularly observe and visit these locations during the shift.


Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s Degree (A.A.) preferred; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
