JOB SUMMARY: Follows directions to set up and operate a variety of power tools and hand tools to laminate wood-based raw materials, such as cabinets, doors, walls, trim, tables, specialty fixtures with plastic or wooden laminates or veneers by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates Competency in the following areas:                                                                                                                        

 1.       Inspects materials prior beginning work for defects or non-conformances to specifications. Reports any non-conforming materials or engineering to supervisor.

 2.       Reviews paperwork for lamination estimated hours for completion.                                                                           

 3.       Sets up work area for each work order to optimize throughput and article completion.                                                            

 4.       Uses hand and power tools for driving nails, screws, staples, or other fasteners into joints, for sanding, for routing edges of articles for proper finish.    

 5.       Fills, sands and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for lamination.                                                        

 6.       Applies even and correct amount of laminating glue to articles.                                                                   

 7.       Maintains pressed and even laminated surfaces free of bubbling and telegraphing.                                                                 

 8.       Maintains clean and uniform edges on lamination work.                                                                               

 9.       Maintains clean seams and butt joints in lamination and solid surface work.                                                                            

 10.    Repairs all cracks and chips in lamination work.                                                                              

 11.    Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specification and the adherence to construction schedule                    

 12.    Properly clocks in and out of work orders and posts correct number of parts completed per the work order.                    

 13.    Accurately maintains and updates WC performance boards hourly.                                                                           

 14.    Maintains a hazard free area with all flammable materials properly handled or stored.                                                         

15.    Records material used in inventory log.                                                                             

 16.    Maintains cleanliness of assigned areas.                                                                           

 17.    Maintains paperwork for each assigned job.

 1.       Meets dress code/uniform standards; appearance is neat and clean                                                                    

 2.       Completes any training requirements                                                                            

 3.       Maintains dependable attendance                                                                 

 4.       Wears ID badge while on company property or job sites                                                                           

 5.       Works in a safe manner and observes all safety regulations Performs other duties as assigned or requested                

        

Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED; and six months to one year related experience
