JOB SUMMARY: Follows instructions to set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines and use various power tools and hand tools to fabricate and assemble wood-based raw materials, such as cabinets, doors, walls, trim, tables, specialty fixtures, and etc. by performing the following duties:

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates Competency in the following areas:                                                                                                                        

1.       Inspects materials prior to assembly/hardware for defects or non-conformances to specifications. Reports any non-conforming materials or engineering to supervision.

2.       Reviews paperwork for assembly and hardware estimated hours for completion.                                                                                  

 3.       Sets up work area for each work order to optimize throughput and article completion.                                                                        

 4.       Sets up and operates woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortise, tenoner, molder, and shaper, to cut and shape parts from wood.                              

 5.       Glues, fits, and clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit.                                                                  

 6.       Uses hand and power tools to drive nails, screws, staples, or other fasteners into joints of articles for proper finish.                    

 7.       nds and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for finishing.                                                                     

 8.       Installs hardware such as hinges, catches, casters, and drawer pulls.                                                                       

 9.       Inspects the quality of work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specification and the adherence to construction.                                    

 10.    Properly clocks in and out of work orders and posts correct number of parts completed per the work order.                  

 11.    Performs highest quality work within estimated time allowed.                                                                  

 12.    Accurately maintains and updates WC performance boards hourly.                                                                         

 13.    Maintains cleanliness of assigned areas.                                                                         

 14.    Maintains paperwork for each assigned job.  

 

 Standard Requirements:                                                             

 1.       Works in a safe manner and observes all safety regulations                                                                       

 2.       Meets dress code/uniform standards; appearance is neat and clean                                                                       

 3.       Completes any training requirements                                                                               

 4.       Maintains dependable attendance                                                              

 5.       Wears ID badge while on company property or job sites Performs other duties as assigned or requested                                                                              

 

Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED; and 6 months to one year related experience.
